Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has urged the Moroccan players to lift their game against Croatia in the third place match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions became the first African side to reach the semi-final of the World Cup before they suffered a defeat against reigning champions, France.

Morocco players would also have themselves to blame for losing against France based on the chances they missed in the game in Qatar.

Now the Africans are up against Croatia in Saturday's third place encounter and Drogba has stated that Morocco shouls make the continent happy by winning according to the report on GOAL.

Statement made by Drogba

"I've seen a great Moroccan team, who gave everything to win.
"They weren't really focusing on the final pass to score a goal and they got punished by a France team, who scored goals when it really mattered. Morocco still have the chance to make history and finish third in the final game.''

Drogba speaks on France squad

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Ivorian legend Didier Drogba suggested that France would likely defeat Argentina when both teams meet in the World Cup final on Sunday.

The French team go into the match as the defending champions and will be looking to become the first team to retain the title in 60 years.

Argentina defeated Croatia 3-0 in the semi-final, while France made it to the final following a 2-0 win over the surprise team of the tournament, Morocco.

Drogba suggested that France is a competitive team that have what it takes to win the game.

Meanwhile, Drogba explained the reasons why some African teams struggled at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He explained that coaches find it difficult to find the right system when the players are together in the national teams.
