  • Piers Morgan has produced evidence that Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest ever
  • The ace journalist doesn't even think Lionel Messi is the best Argentinian player ever
  • Piers Morgan is banking his hopes on France upstaging Argentina in the finals

Renowned broadcaster Piers Morgan has produced "large sheet of facts" to prove that Cristiano Ronaldo is a better footballer than Lionel Messi.

Messi has been in sensational form in Qatar as he pushes to inspire Argentina to World Cup glory.

The 35-year-old starred as La Albiceleste thumped Croatia 3-0 to progress to the World Cup final, netting one and providing one assist.

Despite Messi's sterling display at the Mundial in Qatar, Morgan remains convinced it is Ronaldo who should be labelled as the 'Greatest Player of All Time' and has now laid out his reasons for that belief.

What Piers Morgan said

"When you look at the stats for Ronaldo and Messi, it's important to remember Ronaldo is two years and four months older than Messi," Morgan told talkSPORT, via Mirror Sports.
"Also important to remember that unlike Messi who stayed in his Barcelona comfort blanket for 16-17 years, Ronaldo has won league titles in all different countries including the three most competitive leagues in the world.
"He's taken himself out of comfort zones - he could have stayed at Real Madrid most of his career if he wanted but he didn't want to. He's deliberately taken himself into new leagues, new battles, new challenges.
"Even coming back to Manchester United last season was a big thing for him to do whereas Messi has only ever done it for Barcelona where all round him the entire time were the world's greatest players and Ronaldo has often had to lead that line pretty much on his own.
"So, I think if you look at career goals, Champions League goals - Ronaldo is way ahead. He's better in the air, he's better with both feet, albeit Messi has a left-foot wand. I can rack up a pretty large sheet of facts which I think leads you to the conclusion that not only is Ronaldo the GOAT, but that Messi is only the second-biggest GOAT from Argentina."

Morgan predicts Messi heartbreak

Meanwhile, Morgan is banking his hopes on France upstaging Lionel Messi's Argentina in the finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina booked their sixth World Cup final on the back of a resounding 3-0 victory over Croatia and will be aiming to win the Mundial for the first time since 1986 on Sunday, December 18.

While La Albiceleste's spot in the finals is cemented they will discover their opponents for the Grand Finale soon when defending champions France cross paths with giant-killers Morocco in Wednesday's second semifinal.

Morgan reacts to Portugal's exit

Sports Brief earlier reported that Piers Morgan is full of praise for Morocco following their historic win in the quarter-final of the World Cup against Portugal.

Youssef En-Nesyri's first-half header ensured Morocco became the first African team to reach the last four of the World Cup.

After the game, the British broadcaster took to social media to celebrate the performance of the Atlas Lions.
