  • Jordan Henderson put World Cup heartbreak aside as he linked up with Liverpool in Dubai
  • The England midfielder might have played at his last-ever tournament in Qatar this year
  • He was involved in an emotional reunion with boss Jurgen Klopp at the mid-season camp

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was involved in an emotional reunion with his club boss Jurgen Klopp, just days after England suffered World Cup heartbreak.

Images have since surfaced showing Henderson involved in a warm welcome with his club boss, as the team prepares to come back from the mid-season break.

The Reds players, including Mohamed Salah and Uruguay star Darwin Nunez, are currently enjoying the warm weather of Dubai, which is a short flight from Qatar where the World Cup cup is racing towards its climax.

A video seen by Daily Mail has since surfaced, showing Henderson and Klopp sharing a warm embrace, with the pair then chatting it up before the training session commenced.

Right-back Andy Robertson is also heard sarcastically declaring, 'We had a visitor in training today. The captain came and said hello to everyone'.

Henderson, 32, was an integral part of England’s squad in Qatar, as the Three Lions went past the group stage and the Round of 16 before a painful exit at the hands of France on Saturday night.

The club also tweeted a message to their captain.

He was taken off for Mason Mount as England chased a desperate equaliser, following Olivier Giroud’s match-winning goal.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane had the chance to force the game to extra time, but he blasted wide from 12 yards after Mount was brought down in the box.

Ten Hag declares Sancho unfit

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on Erik ten Hag’s take on Jadon Sancho, as the English star’s career takes another disheartening turn.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has conspicuously missed two of Manchester United's mid-season friendlies, as he continues to work on his own fitness program.

The forward started the season brightly under the Dutch boss, but waned off in subsequent weeks, last being seen during the one-all draw against Chelsea on October 22 at Stamford Bridge.
