According to Sportskeeda, Messi has now scored 11 goals in 25 FIFA World Cup appearances, a record by an Argentine player.

Celebrating his husband's feat and the South American country's qualification, Rocuzzo took to the photo-sharing app Instagram to express her joy.

She posted a photo of herself and their three children with the caption translated from Spanish as: "I can't explain it because you won't understand!!! Let's go Argentina!!! Let's go Lionel Messi."

Messi pulls off unreal assist

Argentina captain Messi produced an incredible assist in his side's 3-0 semi-final defeat of Croatia on Tuesday evening.

The 35-year-old opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a powerful finish from the spot.

Julian Alvarez made it 2-0 for La Albiceleste after he completed a direct solo run through the heart of the Croatia defence, before tapping home to double Argentina's lead.

Messi hailed as the GOAT

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Messi left football fans gushing over his timelessness, after the Argentina captain gave credence to why he should be considered the greatest footballer to have ever graced the sport.

Messi produced his characteristic mercurial magic in his country's one-sided semi-final victory against Croatia, scoring and providing an assist.

Despite suffering a setback in their opening game against Saudi Arabia, La Albiceleste have steamrolled their way to the World Cup finals under the guidance of the indefatigable Messi.
