Manchester United great Roy Keane rolled back the years during a friendly game between 2022 World Cup pundits by scoring a half-volley past Micah Richards.

Keane then celebrated the goal wildly, which reminded fans of Sergio Aguero's title-winning goal in 2012 against QPR.

Legendary Red Devils captain hit the headlines for the wrong reasons this week for criticizing Brazil players for dancing after scoring against South Korea in the last 16, according to the Guardian.

Keane was heavily condemned as a result by both Brazilian players and fans on social media. His celebration, however, was the complete opposite of what he expected as a pundit.

Roy Keane's wild celebration

Since there were no World Cup games on Wednesday, Keane, who does punditry for UK's ITV, took to the field against BBC pundits, including regular Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards.

After punching away a goal-bound effort, Richards could not stop Keane's effort from going in. However, the ball did take a wicked deflection off a defender, but that didn't stop Keane from celebrating.

During his playing days, Keane was known for his aggressiveness and no-nonsense demeanor as a captain.

He was part of Sir Alex Ferguson's all-conquering team in the 1990s and is considered one of the best captains of all time. Cristiano Ronaldo hailed him as the best captain he's ever had, according to Sky Sports.

Nevertheless, his punditry has attracted plenty of criticism from fans who often label him as a grumpy old man. Still, he's been a source of great entertainment for football fans due to his uncompromising directness.

Brazil stars respond to Keane

After Keane blasted Brazil players for dancing. Sports Brief reported that Raphinha and Lucas Paqueta vowed to keep doing their dances because that is their way of expressing themselves.

The Selecao are known for their flair in football. The likes of Ronaldinho perfectly embodied that culture, but their dancing and showboating have attracted criticism.

Raphinha said they'll continue doing the dance.

‘The problem is with those who don’t like it, because we’ll keep doing it. Dance symbolizes the joy of scoring a goal."

Brazil head coach Tite also rubbished the criticism, saying he'll keep urging his players to express themselves on the pitch.
