  • From a chair breaking to a stormy 'walk-off', viewers in Mzansi have almost seen it all

Last week, a video showing Twiggy Moli using an expletive to describe Cristiano Ronaldo went viral at home and abroad.

This incident brought back other memories of controversial or funny moments that occurred live on television, to the astonishment of viewers.

Ashwin Willemse storms off set:

"The former winger shocked rugby fans all over the country as he went off at his fellow analysts Nick Mallet and Naas Botha, stating that he wouldn’t be able to continue working alongside two individuals who continually undermine him before removing his microphone and walking off set," IOL reported.

Former minister falls off chair:

IOL wrote:

"Nene can be seen adjusting his seat with a cracking sound while responding and before he can finish his answer, the chair loses its battle against his weight and he drops under the table, leaving the host of the show to handle business on her own."

'Touched on his studio':

Andre Visagie, former secretary of the AWB, and political analyst Lebohang Pheko were guests of Chris Maroleng on ENCA's Africa 360° programme in the tense days following the murder of the Afrikaner nationalist Eugene Terre'Blanche.

As reported by IOL:

"Maroleng had to intervene when Visagie lost his temper, ripping off his microphone and storming off the set before turning back to go face-to-face with Pheko. It was then that Maroleng began repeating what would become a famous line: 'Don’t touch me on my studio.'
"Following a brief skirmish that involved members of the production team, Visagie storms off but not before he yells 'I’m not done with you' to Pheko."

Moli apologises for Ronaldo controversy

Twiggy Moli has apologised for the terrible language she used recently.

She was seen in a video this past week describing Cristiano Ronaldo as a 'p-word', during a broadcast rehearsal in a SuperSport studio.

This did not go down well regardless, with SuperSport stepping forth to apologise unreservedly.

Michael Owen vs Dillan Oliphant

Be careful what you wish for - or curse. England and Liverpool legend Michael Owen finally responded to his 'troll' Dillan Oliphant.

The South African comedian is not exactly his biggest fan and always has chirp at the end of his football-related videos on social media, as reported by Sports Brief.

During a broadcasting break of SuperSport's coverage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Owen's fellow analyst Stanton Fredericks recorded a cellphone message that he sent to Oliphant, with a special surprise.
