Sancho signed for United last season but is yet to replicate the form he displayed at Borussia Dortmund, which garnered praise from fans who considered him a world-class talent.

The Red Devils are preparing for the return to the Premier League with a couple of friendly matches, and Sancho will be the major absentee in Erik ten Hag's squad.

United players who are not in Qatar and youngsters have travelled to southern Spain for games against La Liga outfits Cadiz and Real Betis.

Sancho was left out of England's 2022 World Cup squad and has not featured for the club since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on October 22nd, according to ESPN. He also United's final four games before the World Cup break because of illness.

Sancho absence explained

According to Man Utd's website, Sancho is taking part in an individual training program as he looks to get back to his best level.

"Jadon Sancho is continuing his individual training programme as part of a process to get back to his highest level. The club is fully supporting him in this."

Sancho has spent the break working with coaches in the Netherlands recommended by Ten Hag.

The 22-year-old started the season decently, but his form rapidly deteriorated, seeing him miss the 2022 World Cup for the Three Lions.

According to MEN, Sancho is working hard to regain form and recapture his place in the team. He was pictured training at Dutch amateur club OJC Rosmalen this week.

According to Tansfermarkt, Sancho has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 52 appearances for the Red Devils.

As far as the England squad is concerned, Sancho was a crucial part of the team during the Euro 2020 but has featured for the national side just once since that tournament.

Notably, he is yet to make an appearance for England in 2022 due to a combination of injuries and a spectacular dip in form at Man United.

Despite his setbacks, Sancho is determined to make a comeback, albeit through his club performances.
