England captain Harry Kane has now waded into the debate. He supports Ronaldo and said he would have done the same if he thinks he got a touch.

Kane has and will claim it

Harry Kane is no stranger to trying to claim a teammates goal. According to Daily Express The Premier League awarded him a goal against Stoke City in 2018 after appeal, it was first awarded to Christian Eriksen.

Little wonder he spoke in support of Ronaldo in a press conference ahead of the match against Senegal quoted by Daily Express.

“If it touched me, I would have definitely claimed it. Obviously only Ronaldo knows if it did. He’s going for a lot of goal records himself, so I’m sure he’ll want it if he did touch it.” he said.

Kane speaks on goal drought

Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup golden boot winner, Harry Kane is yet to score a goal in Qatar despite England scoring nine in the group stages, though he has three assists according to Transfermarkt.

“When you’re scoring goals it makes you a bit more happy around the place. I’m someone who wants to score in every game, but as you get more experience, you know it’s not going to happen every game. So I try not to think about it too much. The best way is to just go out there in every game with the same mindset.” he said.

Kane will hope to find the back of the net when the Three Lions square up against the Teranga Lions in the round of 16 later today.

Kane fit to face Senegal

Sports Brief earlier reported that Harry Kane has declared himself fit to play Senegal having been battling with an ankle problem since the beginning of the tournament.

Kane has started all three games for England so far amid concerns he got a serious ankle injury in the first match against Iran.

He will hope to break his goal drought today and help England overcome Senegal in a bid to progress to the quarter final where they could possibly face defending champions France.
