An English football match had to be abandoned after only 11 minutes after a fan passed away in the stands.

The game was from the national league involving Bromley and Yeovil.

Bromley have since released a statement explaining why the match had to be abandoned. The statement read:

"Bromley Football Club can confirm that our home fixture with Yeovil Town on Saturday 3rd December was abandoned shortly after kick off due to a medical incident.

"We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the supporters who flagged the incident, medical teams of both Clubs, as well as Doctors within the crowd who assisted stadium paramedics until the ambulance crew arrived and transferred them to hospital.

The game as an early kick off, and was scheduled to start at 1230hrs UK time and was paused in the sixth minute to allow for medical staff to attend to the situation.

After several minutes, it was decided that that game would be abandoned altogether.

Mbappe leads prayers for Pele

Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on Mbappe’s powerful tweet towards the ailing Brazilian legend Pele.

Pele was recently admitted to hospital again, with doctors claiming he had a respiratory infection.

Mbappe, who won the World Cup in 2018, shared a message on Twitter asking his followers to pray for Pele.

"Pray for the King Pele," wrote Mbappe on Twitter.
