France are seeking that FIFA reinstates Antoine Griezmann’s disallowed goal against Tunisia, after Didier Deschamps’ team suffered their first loss at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Atletico Madrid forward thought he had grabbed a last-gasp equaliser against the Carthage Eagles, after he was set up with Aurelien Tchouameni.

Griezmann was adjudged to have been offside however, after a video review. The French Football Federation (FFF) believes the referee and the VAR made a technical error in the process, ESPN reports.

"We are writing a complaint after Antoine Griezmann's goal was, in our opinion, wrongly disallowed. This complaint has to be filed within 24 hours after the final whistle."

Kounde explains team-mate Griezmann's role

Meanwhile, Jules Kounde says Griezmann’s success at the World Cup, playing in the midfield for the French national team, has come as a surprise, Goal reports.

Griezmann has been impressing for France in an unfamiliar midfield berth at the Mundial, with the attacker filling a deeper role under Didier Deschamps.

Griezmann has helped Les Bleus to back-to-back victories over Australia and Denmark in the Middle East, with the defending champions already safely through to the last 16.

Tunisia break France’s 8-year record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Tunisia earning a famous win over France on November 30, in their last group game at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Going into this game, the Carthage Eagles needed a win to have any chance of qualifying for the round of 16, and also needed the other group game to go their way.

Sadly for Tunisia, Australia recorded a win over Denmark to finish second in the group behind France, condemning the African side to elimination.
