This has now been refuted by player, Saleh Alshehri, who said that serving his country was the only reward he needed, Arab News reported.
“We are here to serve our country and do the best, so that’s our biggest achievement,” Alsehri said.
Coach Herve Renard also shot down the rumours, explaining that they still had games to focus on and so they still had a job to do, TalkSport reported.
Saudi Arabia’s remaining game
Renard’s side have their final group game against Mexico to contest, knowing full well that qualification to the Round of 16 is in their own hands.
Victory over the Mexican side will guarantee them a place in the knockout stages. They could also top the group if they win, and Poland and Argentina draw their game. They will be eliminated from the competition if both games end in a draw or if they were to lose to Mexico.
