Nigerian music sensation Patoranking has gotten his fans buzzing as he arrived in Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA World Cup is taking place.

The popular reggae music star was left emotional when his beloved mother welcomed him to the Middle East.

Several outlets say Patoranking is one of the top music stars chosen to perform at one of the events during the global showpiece.

The Nigerian musician shared a video of himself arriving in Qatar, when he is suddenly surprised by his mother, who he says he has not seen in five years.

He wrote on Instagram:

“Landed Qatar to warm reception and a big Surprise, Haven’t seen my mom in 5 years, she came to surprise me at the airport. They got me on this one see my face at the end…”

Patoranking, born Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, is one of the most prominent Nigerian artists. He is known for his reggae-dance hall style of music.

The singer came to the limelight in 2010 after collaborating with Timaya on his song Alubarika.

Daily Trust reports that in February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released Girlie O, a single which earned him more recognition.

A fan wrote about his heartwarming reunion:

“So lovely. I like the way mummy jumped.”

Kizz Daniel tributes Fela Kuti

Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian music sensation Kizz Daniel paid tribute to late music icon Fela Kuti, when he treated football fans in Qatar to a song from the late legend.

Kizz Daniel performed on the main stage of the FIFA World Cup Fan Festival along with the likes of Diplo, Nora Fatehi, Trinidad Cardona and Calvin Harris.

The Buga crooner delivered Fela’s song Lady in style, with more than 50 000 fans singing along to the song at the venue.
