  • Brazil star Rodrygo hopes for some goal scoring magic and resorted to unusual methods
  • The Real Madrid forward was being interviewed by Ronaldo Nazario after the team's win
  • Rodrygo then rubbed his hands on Ronaldo's legs to 'transfer' some magic to his own legs

Brazil star Rodrygo deicided the only way to polish his scoring touch was to rub his hands on Ronaldo Nazario's legs, during an interview after Brazil's narrow 1-0 win over Switzerland.

The Real Madrid star provided the assist for the goal, which Casemiro spectacularly finished off. The win sealed Brazil's spot in the last 16, and they will hope to finish top of Group G.

Switzerland gave a good account of themselves and had several chances to score, but they weren't clinical enough. The match looked like it could end goalless, but Casemiro decided otherwise.

His stunning goal seven minutes from time was enough to give Brazil the win. Vinicius Jnr had given the South Americans the lead in the 66th minute, but it was ruled out for offside by the VAR.

The Swiss need a single point to progress to the last 16 - and given how Serbia's game with Cameroon went - they just might just get it.

Rodrygo's moment with Ronaldo

After the game, Rodrygo was interviewed by the Brazil icon, and Rodrygo was genuinely star-struck. He was asked about his first World Cup experience by the 2002 FIFA World Cup winner.

"It's a pleasure to be speaking with you. It's been sensational, very good for me, I have been learning every day. I'm very happy. Things have turned out well, it is fantastic for me."

At the end of the interview, Rodrygo greeted Ronaldo before rubbing his hands on the legendary Brazilian's legs and then on his own, in an effort to magically gain the former's scoring touch.

Ronaldo Nazario's list of achievements is long. One that stands out is the two Ballon d'Or awards he won in 1997 and 2002, and he was also part of the Brazil teams that won the 1994 and 2002 World Cup titles.

Rodrygo was signed by Real Madrid as a 17-year-old at the start of the 2019/20 season, for a massive €45 million. Zinedine Zidane gave him his debut and he scored his first goal after 93 seconds.

Rodrygo named in Brazil squad

Sports Brief earlier reported on Rodrygo's brilliant reaction after being named in Brazil's World Cup squad.

The Real Madrid forward shared a heartwarming moment with his family after he learned he had been named in the Samba Boys' final squad.

In a video posted on social media, the younger striker and his family were monitoring the announcement on TV when the forward's name was mentioned.
