Meanwhile, Uruguay was left frustrated by a determined South Korean side in their opening match, however, tonight's encounter with Portugal gives them a chance to get their first points.

The two sides met in the 2018 World Cup in the last 16, but the South Americans had the last laugh as they eliminated Cristiano Ronaldo and company, according to AS.

Silva's bizarre pre-match comment

Ahead of the match, Silva said that his team will dedicate the win to Danilo Pereira, who broke his ribs in training and is expected to miss their final group matches against Uruguay and South Korea.

“We want to dedicate this win to Danilo because he is a fantastic player and person. That is why we would like to do it for him," according to the Mirror.

The injury to the PSG star could mean veteran defender Pepe, 39, would return to the team in what is expected to be a feisty affair.

Uruguay have some elite talent in their ranks, like Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, Darwin Nunez and Federico Valverde.

Silva angry about Ronaldo questions

Sports Brief earlier reported on Silva expressing his anger about the constant questions about Cristiano Ronaldo.

Like many Portuguese players, Bernardo Silva looks like he is tired of answering questions about the viral Cristiano Ronaldo interview.

Snippets from Ronaldo's interview with popular media personality Piers Morgan were first released on Sunday, 13th November, shocking many Manchester United and football fans at large.

While answering questions from the press, the Manchester City star was quizzed about Ronaldo, and he was livid.
