The Saudi Arabian victory over Argentina was without a doubt the biggest shock of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after they ended Lionel Scaloni men’s 36-game unbeaten run.

The triumph was celebrated in Saudi Arabia with a bank holiday, and each member of Herve Renard's team is set to receive a Rolls Royce Phantom - worth up to £480,000.

Messi says Argentina’s next game is a must win

Meanwhile, Argentina knows what they must do if they want to qualify for the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup according to Lionel Messi, Indian Express reports.

Speaking to the press at the mix zone after Argentina’s shock loss to Saudi Arabia, Messi declared that Argentina will have to win their next games to make it out of the group.

La Albiceleste will next play Mexico on Saturday, November 26 as they seek their first win of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Messi to salvage World Cup bid

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Argentina face a battle to stay alive at the World Cup on Saturday, with Lionel Messi and his teammates preparing to take on Mexico in a match they cannot afford to lose.

In the early kick-off in Qatar, Australia beat Tunisia 1-0, recovering from a chastening opening defeat against defending champions France to keep their hopes alive.

Two-time world champions Argentina, who arrived in Qatar on a 36-match unbeaten run, are in a precarious position after a stunning 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia.
