Israel Adesanya Reveals Stunning Reason That Made Him Lose Against Alex Pereira

Nigerian UFC star Israel Adesanya has finally broken his silence on his defeat against Alex Pereira claiming that he lost against the Brazilian due to a kick to his calf.

Going into the battle on Sunday morning, 13 November, many fans tipped Adesanya to make himself proud in the fight, but he was unable to make something good happen.

Adesanya started the fight against the Brazilian impressively and was even leading 3-1 at a point, but Pereira came back strongly and knocked the Nigerian out.

The defeat came as a disappointing one for many Nigerians who had wanted Adesanya to retain his UFC title.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Adesanya explained that the kick he got from Pereira in the fifth round left him with a dead leg.

Adesanya's reaction on defeat

“I’ve been doing this, this is my third fight in 10 months.
“Every time I fight, I risk losing what you guys deem as the prestigious which it is the belt and all that.
“It was a kick to my calf that left me with a dead leg. He hit my peroneal nerve, so that’s why my footwork was compromised.
“Even when I tripped and went backward, I had to do the roly poly. Because I was like, ‘Oh s—, I just tripped over, it’s not like me.''

Alex Pereira knocks out Pereira

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Israel Adesanya was defeated again by Alex Pereira when they met in a tough rematch on Sunday morning, 13 November, in what was a sad defeat for the Nigerian star.

Going into this battle, Adesanya had promised his fans that he would do well against his opponent, but Pereira was more determined to become the new UFC middleweight champion.

Interestingly, Adesanya was winning the fight 3-1 in which Nigerian fans were happy thinking he would win the battle, but he was later knocked down.

Adesanya was likely up on the scorecards, three rounds to one, when he slipped in the middle of the octagon. He tried to recover but it was the beginning of the end.
