The Netherlands begin their World Cup campaign against Senegal on November 21, before facing Ecuador four days later and concluding the group stage against host nation Qatar.

Xavi Simons makes Netherlands World Cup squad

Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven’s Xavi Simons has been included in the Netherlands’ 26-man line-up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup by manager Louis Van Gaal, Eurosport reports.

Simons, who is regarded as one of the nation's brightest emerging stars, has made 21 appearances across all competitions and recorded 10 goals and four assists.

The uncapped Simons is arguably the most eye-catching selection and serves as a reward for a fine run of form this season.
