Former Nigeria international Peter Rufai has hailed players of the Super Eagles for their performance against Costa Rica, in an international friendly match played on Thursday morning, November 10.
Costa Rica used the encounter as their last warm-up game before travelling to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, while on the other hand, Super Eagles are preparing for AFCON qualifiers.
Nigerian paraded a team of home-based players against Costa Rica, with the likes of Kayode Bankole and Afeez Nosiru getting the chance to start in the game.
Result of the friendly game
Oscar Duarte scored the first goal for Costa Rica in the 7th minute, before Kendall Waston netted the second in the 73rd minute to give the hosts a 2-0 win over Nigeria.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Rufai claimed that he is not disappointed with the performance of the Nigerian players.
Rufai's reaction about Super Eagles
“This is a good performance from the Super Eagles against a Costa Rican side that paraded their best stars for the encounter."
Rufai instead commended the Super Eagles players for their efforts during the match.
"This will further improve the confidence of the players and also gives the Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro an insight on players he can draft to the main team.”
