  • Arsenal number nine Gabriel Jesus has reacted excellently after learning he will play for Brazil in the World Cup
  • Jesus posted a video on social media celebrating the call-up to the tournament, which kicks off later this month
  • The 25-year-old will play in his second World Cup after making his debut in the 2018 edition in Russia

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has reacted brilliantly to his call-up to the Brazil team for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Jesus pipped Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino for the striker spot and is also expected to start up top for Tite's side in their first match in the tournament, against Serbia on November 24.

The 25-year-old has been outstanding for Arsenal this season and will be joined by club teammate Gabriel Martinelli on the plane to Qatar. However, Gunners teammate Gabriel Magalhaes was snubbed by Tite, according to Football London.

In the summer, Jesus signed for Arsenal from Manchester City for £45 million, and has grown to be an influential player as Mikel Arteta's side challenges for the Premier League title.

Jesus' reaction to Brazil call-up

After he was confirmed to be part of Tite's squad, Jesus wasted no time in reacting to the brilliant news. This will be the striker's second World Cup appearance after also playing in 2018.

Jesus reacted to his call-up by posting a 27-second clip of him in action for his country, according to the Evening Standard.

The Arsenal talisman has made 56 appearances for his country, scoring 19 goals. He last scored in a friendly victory over Japan a few months ago.

However, Jesus is in a nine-game goal drought after blanking again in Arsenal's superb win. The Gunners play Brighton and Wolves in their last games before the World Cup break, and Jesus would absolutely love to score to get some rhythm.

Henry has concern for Jesus

Sports Brief earlier reported on Thierry Henry expressing his concerns about Jesus' ability to carry Arsenal's goal-scoring burden.

Henry, Arsenal's all-time top scorer, believes Jesus has no capability to be prolific for the Gunners.

"Jesus is a guy who can put more pressure. Is he going to be a guy that’s going to score 25-30 goals? No," the legendary striker reckoned.
