Erling Haaland who plays for Premier League giants Manchester City has claimed that Senegal will be the strongest African side in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It is 17 days to the kick off of the 2022 World Cup in which 31 teams plus the host nation Qatar will go into serious battle for one trophy.

France are the reigning champions of the World Cup as it will be recalled that they defeated Croatia in the Russia 2018 final.

Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Tunisia and Morocco are the five African teams that will be flying to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.

According to the report on GOAL, Haaland explained that Senegal should do well at the championship.

Haaland's remark about Senegal

"I think Senegal will do really well.
"They are a strong team and they have so many strong players. So I think Senegal will do the best out of the African teams.''

Speaking to former Kogi United coach Folabi Ojekunle, he shared the same view with Haaland claiming that he sees Sadio Mane taking Senegal far in Qatar.

Sarr says he is tired

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how with days to the kick off of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Senegal international Ismaila Sarr has raised a serious concern about his fitness for the tournament after confirming that he is tired.

Senegal, who are the reigning African champions will be leading four other nations to the World Cup with the target of them making their continent proud.

In the history of the global championship, no African nation has ever won the title even though they have reached the quarterfinals.

Sarr who currently plays for Watford in the Championship claimed that all his teammates are also tired following their win over Cardiff City on Wednesday, 2 November.

Sarr explained that fatigue is gradually affecting him and his teammates.
