Suarez scores brace versus Liverpool

The former Anfield hero opened the scoring for Nacional in the 50th minute, but Thiago Vecino's penalty in the 68th minute evened matters. The match ended 1-1 and proceeded to extra time., according to the Daily Mail.

Suarez added his second in the 96th minute before Emmanuel Gigliotti scored his brace late in extra time to put the match beyond doubt, handing Suarez his first Uruguayan title since the 2005/06 season.

Suarez has enjoyed a hugely successful career, especially with Barcelona. He formed a devastating partnership with Neymar and Lionel Messi, winning the 2015 treble and going down as one of the game's greatest strikers, according to the Guardian.

Suarez delivers warning to Nunez

Sports Brief earlier reported on Luis Suarez sending a warning to his compatriot and Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez.

Suarez told Nunez to be strong and 'not repeat the screw-up' that saw the youngster sent off for the Reds against Crystal Palace.

The veteran striker urged Nunez to control his emotions when dealing with Premier League defenders.
