- Nigerian singer CKay has revealed that he will be performing live at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
- The 27-year-old afrobeats star also expressed sadness over the fact that Super Eagles won't play at the World Cup
- CKay was born in Kaduna, a state in the north-western region of Nigeria, and he is of Igbo descent from Anambra State
Famous Nigerian afrobeats singer CKay has confirmed that he will be travelling to Qatar to perform live at the 2022 World Cup which is less than a month to kickoff.
CKay made this known while speaking with a reporter Joanna Gasiorowska who then shared the video of the interview on her Twitter page.
While answering questions, CKay explained that he has never visited Qatar before adding that it will be a good experience for his career to sing at the World Cup.
The 27-year-old also explained that afrobeats means everything to him as he expressed unhappiness over Super Eagles failure to qualify for the World Cup.

CKay's statement on going to Qatar
''I am so excited going to Qatar for the first time because the World Cup is a huge tournament that all nations want to participate.
''It is sad that Nigeria will not be playing at the World Cup as it would have been good to see our players in Qatar.''
