  • Legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo has revealed he would love to see either Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti take over the reins as head coach of his country
  • Brazil, presently coached by Tite, have been drawn in Group G with European nations Serbia and Switzerland as well as five-time African champions Cameroon
  • The South American giants have not won the World Cup since Ronaldo inspired The Selecao to their fifth world title in 2002

Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima wants either Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola or Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti to take over as head coach of Brazil in the near future.

Ronaldo has admitted he would be delighted to see a top-class coach in the mould of Guardiola or Ancelotti take charge of the national team.

Brazil, currently handled by long-serving coach Tite, have never been coached by a non-Brazilian in the history of the country. However, the legendary striker wants a paradigm shift.

“I would love it," he told The Guardian. "A European not just with the Brazilian national team but the entire Brazilian football industry. A Pep or an Ancelotti could be historic, it could change our history for 100 years."

Both Guardiola and Ancelotti have running contracts with their respective clubs, hence the 46-year-old's desire of seeing a coach in the calibre of the aforementioned managers will remain a fantasy.

Meanwhile, Tite has announced that he will step down after the 2022 World Cup.

What's next for Brazil?

Brazil will hope to end Europe's dominance of the Mundial in this year's tournament, with Tite's side tipped as one of the favourites for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo wants Messi to 'fail' at World Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that legendary Brazil striker Luis 'Ronaldo' De Lima has admitted he cannot bear the thought of Lionel Messi and Argentina winning the World Cup in Qatar this year.

Messi is enjoying a resurgent season with Paris Saint-Germain this term, but will have one eye on the Mundial which is less than one month away.

The 35-year-old will be hoping he continues his scintillating club form when he travels to Qatar in November, to represent the Albiceleste.
