  • Federico Valverde, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio were on target as Real Madrid maintained their unbeaten run to the season with a comprehensive win against Elche
  • Benzema, who won the Ballon d'Or earlier this week, scored his first goal since being named the winner of the prestigious gong
  • The win stretches Madrid's lead at the summit of the league table with 28 points, albeit playing one game more than closest rivals Barcelona

Karim Benzema marked his Ballon d'Or success with a goal as Real Madrid thrashed lowly-placed Elche on Wednesday night.

Benzema found the back of the net on three occasions, however two were ruled out for offside as Los Blancos continued their unbeaten start to the season.
