War of words between legends

According to the Daily Sun, four legends connected to each club chirped each other at a media event hyping up the competition.

Former Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana said:

"Sundowns will have a nice warm up before beating one of the Soweto teams in the final."

Stalwart Tshepo Masilela, currently on the books of Amazulu, fired back:

"Sundowns play many games per season, so AmaZulu will do them a favour by beating them in the first game so that they can go home and rest while we prove that Usuthu is the biggest club in the country."

Former Chiefs player Mandla Masango jabbed at Pirates:

"Chiefs is the most supported club in the country, and will prove that by beating Pirates early on the day to prove that this season they will win a title."

Ex-Orlando Pirates and popular SuperSport pundit Phumudzo Manenzhe responded:

"There's no ways Pirates can lose to 'Mangethe Ball'. Pirates are the strongest team in the country right now and they have the most Carling titles."

Kaizer Chiefs:

1. Itumeleng Khune 2. Eric Mathoho 3. Njabulo Ngcobo 4. S'fiso Hlanti 5. Reeve Frosler 6. Kgaogelo Sekgota 7. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo 8. Yusuf Maart 9. Njabulo Blom 10. Keagan Dolly 11. Caleb Bin

Amazulu:

Amazulu worked with MaMkhize and co. to knock Swallows FC out of Carling Black Label Cup race

There was nothing sinister about how Amazulu snuck into the Carling Black Label Cup.

This is what one can glean from club president Sandile Zungu, who explained how Usuthu surged past Swallows FC late in the voting process when it appeared that the Birds were in for all money, as reported by Sports Brief.

This was after the Birds' chairperson David Mogashoa smelt a rat, alleging that his team was stiffed out of participating in the tournament.
