The 26-year-old stepped up to take the penalty and left fans, players and even commentators in awe with his acrobatic style.

In the video posted on Reddit, Avdalyan takes the normal two-step run and uses the final step to lift himself up while letting the penalty fly past the helpless goalkeeper who could only watch, according to SPORTBIBLE.

As the penalty flew into the goal, his teammate, who had worn a GoPro camera, was in a perfect spot to capture the brilliant moment. According to Reddit, the match was organized by YouTubers, professional footballers and semi-professional stars.

According to the Daily Mail, Avdalyan scored a similar penalty for Rubin Kazan's Under-21 clash in 2018, and with his latest acrobatics, it is safe to say we should expect another back-flip penalty from him in 2026.

Former Everton footballer called to fight for Russian army

Sports Brief reported on former Everton footballer Diniyar Bilyaletdinov reportedly summed to fight for Russia in Ukraine.

The 37-year-old currently coaches the Russian second division side Rodina Moscow II, and the call comes as Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered the mobilisation of around 300,000 soldiers.

Bilyaletdinov joined Everton in 2009 for close to £9 million, which was their third-most-expensive ever signing at the time. The midfielder scored six times in 46 matches for the Russian national team from 2005 to 2012.

Russia invaded Ukraine in February this year, and the war has claimed thousands of lives on both sides.
