German-born Ghanaian, Ansgar Knauff, has been presented with the award for being the best young player in last season's Europa League.

The 20-year-old received his award before Frankfurt's European Super Cup game against Champions League winner, Real Madrid.

In a photo posted on social media, the German youth international took his accolade alongside Real Madrid's Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr, who were named UEFA Champions League best player and young best player respectively.

Knauff, who was born to a Ghanaian father in Germany, was outstanding as Frankfurt won the Europa League last season.

His goals in the quarter-final against Barcelona and in the semi-final West Ham proved vital as the Bundesliga side won the Europa League.

On loan from Borussia Dortmund, Knauff is already attracting interest from several clubs in Europe.

Meanwhile, David Alaba and Karim Benzema's strike as either side of the half saw the Spanish giants win the Super Cup.

Ansgar Knauff wins Europa League with Frankfurt

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Germany-born forward of Ghanaian descent Ansgar Knauff has won the 2021/22 Europa League title with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 20-year-old was influential for Oliver Glasner's side as they defeated Rangers FC 5-4 on penalties after the tie ended 1-1 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Seville.

Knauff, who is on loan from Borussia Dortmund, played the entire duration of the game when they locked horns with the Scottish giants in the final of this season’s Europa League.

Legendary Ghanaian forward Anthony Yeboah was not left out of Frankfurt's Europa League success as he travelled to Spain to watch the final against Rangers.

Yeboah witnessed his former club Eintracht Frankfurt defeat Glasgow Rangers on penalties to win the tournament for the first time.

In a photo posted on social media, the former Ghana international was beaming with smiles as the Bundesliga outfit made history on Wednesday night.
