Top African Nation Sack Their Coach 3 Months to The Start of 2022 World Cup

  • The 69-year-old Bosnian manager has now being fired three times by national teams after they qualified for World Cup finals
  • Morocco are in Group F and they will be facing Belgium, Canada and Croatia in the 2022 competition

Bosnian professional football manager Vahid Halilhodzic has been sacked as the coach of African giants Morocco three months to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The decision was taken due to some irreconcilable differences between the two parties.

Vahid Halilhodzic was named as handler of the Atlas Lions in 2019 following the departure of Herve Renard who managed the country between 2016-2019.

Statement from the Moroccan FA below

"Given the differences and divergent visions between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and coach Vahid Halilhodzic, the best way to prepare the national football team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup was that the two parties decided to separate by mutual consent.

"In this regard, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation extends its heartfelt thanks to the coach, Mr. Vahid Halilhodžić, for the period in which he supervised the leadership of the national team, foremost for qualifying for the 2022 World Cup with a promising young team full of great future ambitions.''

CAF Launches The African Super League, Winner Set to Walk Home with $11.5 Million

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how the Confederation of African Football announced the introduction of the African Super League.

CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, revealed the inaugural edition of the tournament will begin later his month at the 44th edition of CAF's General Assemble.

In a statement posted on CAF's official website, the winner of the competition will walk home with $11.5 million.

CAF is yet to announce the team's that will participate in the inaugural edition, but the top clubs on the continent are set to battle for top honours.
