  • Dusan Tadic was recently the victim of a violent armed robbery
  • Not long before the armed robbery, two supposed pizza delivery guys arrived at his home when he was not there
  • The Serbian midfielder was left with minor injuries, and it is believed the culprits were targeting his expensive watch

Ajax star and former Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic was the latest football star to become the victim of an armed robbery.

Tadic was left with minor injuries after he was ambushed by two men near his home in Amstrdam.

Dutch outlet De Telegraaf reports that Tadic was met at his house by the two men, who wore helmets. They were reportedly targeting the star for his expensive watch.

The incident happened in the night between July 27 and 28, and he was approached by the men when he was getting out of his car.

He soon realised something was not right and immediately attempted to flee, but the attackers were unrelenting and they chased after him.

A scuffle then ensued and Tadic was able to slap one of the attackers.

Amazingly, Tadic was still available for Ajax for the Johan Cruyff Shield final against PSV Eindhoven on Saturday, July 30, and it was evident he had plasters on his hand.

Tadic was also on the scoresheet for Ajax, a day before the attack in the friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Despite the scary incident, Tadic is still an integral part of Ajax’s squad, and had an assist in their first Eredevisie game of the season, a 3-2 win away at Fortuna Sittard.

He joined Ajax in 2018, after spending four years in the Premier League with Southampton where he made 133 appearances, scoring 21 goals.
