Shocking as Sierra Leonean Club that Won a Game By 91 Goals is on the Verge Gaining Promotion

One of the Sierra Leonean club that made global headlines in last month for winning a game with over 90 goals is on the verge of securing promotion.

Gulf FC, who defeated Koquima Lebanon 91-1, have qualified for the Super 10 phase after a 3-0 victory against the same team, and are in line for promotion.

According to SLFA Thomas Brima, Gulf City will be allowed to participate in the promotion play-offs despite an ongoing investigations.

"Based on the report we got from the ERFA we allowed the matches to be replayed so that we can meet our calendar," SLFA president Thomas Daddy Brima told BBC Sport Africa.

"But that does not in any way mean we have closed the case. We are sending it to Fifa and Caf (the Confederation of African Football) for them to look at it and advise accordingly.
"I can confirm that Gulf FC will be allowed to take part in the Super 10."

While Gulf FC defeated Koquima Lebanon 91-1 last month Kahunla Ranges also beat Lumbebu United 95-0, raising issues of match-fixing.

The games had to be replayed to avoid the disruption of the Sierra Leonean football calendar.

Sierra Leonean clubs under investigation for scoring over 90 goals in a game

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Kahunla Rangers and Gulf FC are being investigated by the Sierra Leonean Football Association after recording 'impractical' victories in the First Division over the weekend.

Kahunla Rangers destroyed Lumbebu United 95-0 while Gulf FC thrashed Ququima Lebanon 91-1 on Sunday to raise suspicions of match fixing.

In a statement posted on Twitter by the Sierra Leonean Football Association, investigations begin immediately into those two matches.
