Leipzig were hoping to bring the striker in this year, but Salzburg have rejected that idea. The deal is expected to be completed and announced by the end of the week.

Šeško scored 12 goals in 39 games for Salzburg and has attracted interest from a host of European clubs.

As reported by SportBible, Šeško was wanted by both Chelsea and Manchester United. Liverpool were also reported to have shown an interest in securing the player’s services.

Leipzig are looking to strengthen their squad as they push to challenge Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title.

Leipzig have Christopher Nkunku, André Silva, Yussuf Poulsen and Alexander Sörloth on their books as recognised strikers currently. Poulsen is out injured, while Sörloth has just returned from a loan spell at Real Sociedad.

RB Leipzig are set to welcome back German striker Timo Werner after agreeing on a permanent deal with Chelsea

Timo Werner is set to return home to Germany permanently. The Chelsea striker has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge and back to RB Leipzig.

SportBible now reports that Werner will re-join his former side on a permanent deal and not a loan.

Chelsea signed Werner from Leipzig in 2020 for €56,33 million. Werner has only made 89 appearances for the English club since then and scored 23 goals.
