Former Cameroonian International Serge Branco Namekong had major surgery at the Central Hospital of Yaoundé.
It was gathered that his former ,national team teammate, Samuel Eto'o, visited him and took care of all the expenses.
Notable clubs Serge Branco Namekong played for are Stuggart, Queens Park Rangers, Leeds United and Frankfurt.
Namekong, who played as a defender, was part of the victorious Cameroon National Football Team in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

He featured for the Indomitable Lions in one game in 2001 but featured for several clubs in Europe.

Meanwhile, Samuel Eto’o could be dragged to court again for ignoring a ruling confirming he is the father of a 22-year-old lady.
The former Barcelona striker could face fresh legal action as he is yet to take responsibility and make payments to the family
The FECAFOOT president has never accepted that he is the biological father of Erika Do Rosario Nieves and failed to attend court sessions, which came to a conclusion in February.
Her mother, Adileusa, started the lawsuit in 2018 and made efforts to provide evidence to support her testimony that Eto’o is actually her daughter's biological father.
Oliseh says Osimhen could be better than Eto’o
Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has lauded Victor Osimhen’s efforts in front of goal, saying the striker could be better than Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o.
Osimhen has been impressive in front of goal since joining Italian giants Napoli in the summer of 2020 and many have tipped him to become great.
The 23-year-old found the back of the net 18 times in 32 matches in all competitions for the Partenopei last season and helped the club qualify for the Champions League.
