Erling Haaland has opened up on how former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solkjaer congratulated him on his move to rivals, Manchester City.
The precocious forward completed a £51.2 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund after several months of speculations linking him to other top European clubs including Man United.
Man City's new No.9 was strongly linked with a move to the red half of Manchester during Solkjaer's reign as manager of the Red Devils.
Despite Haaland's fond relationship with Solkjaer owing to their time at Norwegian outfit Molde, the former ended up joining Manchester City this summer.

The duo have kept in touch over the years and when Haaland inked a deal with City in June, former United boss Solskjaer sent a good luck message to his compatriot and friend.
"When I signed with City he congratulated me and wrote to me 'Good luck on going to the wrong side of Manchester'," Haaland to The Manchester Evening News as quoted by SPORTBible.
"We talk sometimes. As you know, he had a huge impact on my career when I was at Molde. He's a good guy."
In the past, Haaland has credited the former United boss for improving his overall game.
