Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been appointed the new head coach of Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Eight months after being dismissed by Tottenham, the Portuguese is finally back in the dugout as Al-Ittihad revealed on Monday, July 4 that he would be their new head coach.

The 48-year-old was sacked by Tottenham after only 17 games in charge, and almost immediately replaced by Antonio Conte.

There were initial suggestions that Nuno was waiting for a Premier League job, hence his lengthy stay from coaching after his dismissal in North London.

However, he seems to have fancied a move to Saudi Arabia instead, and according to 90 Min, he has penned a two-year deal with Al-Ittihad.

In their last campaign, Ittihad finished second in the Saudi Pro League after a draw in the final game of the season allowed Al-Hilal to clinch a third successive league title.

Despite his failed spell with Spurs, Nuno is still fondly remembered in the Premier League, especially after the work he did at Wolverhampton.

During his four-year spell at the Molineaux, he secured two consecutive seventh-place finishes with Wolves as well as a remarkable European qualification.

PSG sack Pochettino

Elsewhere, another former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has parted ways with Paris Saint Germain.

Pochettino and his backroom staff depart having won the Ligue 1 title last season but the campaign was better remembered for a disappointing exit from the Champions League in the last 16 at the hands of Real Madrid.

Confirmation of Pochettino's departure came after club sources confirmed on Monday that Galtier had agreed to become the new coach on a two-year deal.
