Rising Japanese football star Takefusa Kubo ensured that he remains in the memory of enthusiasts with a goal he once scored.

The Real Madrid winger struck a grass-cutter in an international U-23 friendly match against Jamaica in June 2021 during preparations for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

According to Sport Bible, Kubo swung in from right-wing before striking a powerful low drive that went through the legs of four Jamaica players before resting in the back of the net. The Blue Samurai's went on to win the encounter 4-0, with Wataru Endo, Ayase Ueda and Ritsu Doan also on the scoresheet, as was reported by SportsMax.

Kubo joined Real Madrid in 2019 after impressing for FC Tokyo in the J1 League. He has struggled to break into Los Blancos' first team after arriving in the Spanish capital.

This has seen the team send him to fellow La Liga teams Mallorca, Villareal and Getafe, which all proved to be ironically successful spells. In 173 senior appearances since making his debut, he has scored 20 goals and assisted 19 others.

Having represented Japan at U16, U17, U20, U21 and U23 levels, Kubo has played for the senior men's national team 18 times, scoring once thus far.
