Legon Cities striker Hans Kwofie has disclosed a heartbreaking story of how he has been kicked out of his own house by his spouse.

The experienced forward finished as the top scorer for the Royals, scoring seven goals and contributing four assists in 23 games in the just-ended 2021-22 Ghanaian top-flight.

Despite performing his part of the bargain, Kwofie revealed he has not received his salary for the past seven months.

He further added the unpaid salaries has caused a rift between him and his wife. Kwofie revealed his wife has thrown him out of the house due to his current financial woes.

“The season has ended but I cannot go home because my wife has sacked me from the house. She says I should not come home because I’ll end up depending on her and eating from her shop." He told Accra-based radio station Angel FM via Modern Ghana.
He continued: "I’ve not been paid for seven months at Legon Cities. They haven’t paid my signing-on fees as well so I depend on my friends. When I call them, they keep tossing me. Life has become difficult for me.“

Players of top Nigerian club protest over unpaid salaries

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that players of Heartland, who are top Nigerian Professional Football League club on Wednesday afternoon, January 12, stormed the city of Owerri to demand the payment of their salaries.

The protest by the Heartland players came days before their next Professional Football League match against Abia Warriors which will be played at Okigwe this coming Sunday.

According to the video posted on Twitter by Nigerian reporter Wale Quadry, the players can be heard begging the Imo State Government to order the payment of their 9-months salaries.
