Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has called Wayne Rooney a fool for resigning from his role as Derby County head coach.
The club recently announced that Rooney had asked to be relieved of his duties as head coach. Derby County were relegated to League One after a tumultuous season.
The club was docked 21 points at the start of last season for administrative issues and breaching Championship rules. But Rooney masterminded a steady performance that saw them finish just 7 points from safety.
The 36-year-old has in the past been linked with Premier League job offers with Everton. But speaking to Talk Sport, Jordan believes that Rooney is nowhere near a job in the top-flight division.

He will have learned a lot from this.
Someone asked me earlier on if that means he's a shoo-in for a Premier League job. They've bumped their head. He's nowhere near that. I'd be surprised if Wayne got another Championship job any time soon.
I think he's a bloody fool. You've got a club that's dropped into League One with 28,000 fans that are going to be galvanised up the ying-yang. You've got an owner that's coming in there - he's bought the stadium too, so he's not mucking about. I think he is a fool.
