Jomo Cosmos have found out their fate.

Ezenkosi landed themselves in hot water after they laid a complaint against Hungry Lions in a bid to avoid relegation.

Cosmos accused Lions of fielding an ineligible player and the matter was due to be heard by the Premier Soccer League’s Disciplinary Committee.

Before the matter went ahead, Cosmos withdrew and were accused of falsifying documents, Sowetan LIVE reported.

The PSL’s prosecutor, Zola Majavu has since provided an update regarding the hearing which was due to take place yesterday.

He confirmed that the PSL accepted Cosmos’ withdrawal as did Hungry Lions, iDiski Times reported.

He also added what the Disciplinary Committee ordered, which was for Cosmos to forfeit the complaint fee which was an amount of R30 00 and pay both Hungry Lions and the player in question an amount of R150,000 in respect of their expenses pertaining to the matter.

He also ordered Jomo Cosmos to issue a public apology within 24 hours of the ruling.

Cosmos were further directed to pay the costs of the sitting as well.

Hungry Lions will remain in the GladAfrica Championship but the future remains in doubt for Jomo Cosmos.

Cosmos withdrew their case against Hungry Lions that was scheduled for today, meaning that Lions will no longer face the threat of being relegated.

For Cosmos though, they could be facing a possible lifetime ban from football if Lions’ lawyer Karabo Tshabuse gets her way.

It’s not all doom and gloom for Jomo Cosmos fans.

Cosmos were relegated to the ABC Motsepe League this past season when they finished second from the bottom of the GladAfrica Championship log with 28 points.

Cosmos were relegated from the DStv Premiership in 2016 and never made it back to the top tier of South African football. They have been playing in the GladAfrica Championship ever since, until their relegation last season.
