  • Brazilian great Ronaldo has revealed his favourite partner in crime during his successful playing career which spanned over 15 years
  • Considered the best centre-forward in the history of football, Ronaldo played alongside some of the finest talents of his generation
  • Despite playing alongside the crème de la crème of attackers, the ex-Real Madrid and Barcelona sensation chose Luc Nilis as his best strike partner

Three-time World Footballer of the Year, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima has named his favourite teammate.

During an illustrious career, Ronaldo played alongside an A-list of players which included Brazilian greats Romario, Ronaldinho, Bebeto and Adriano at the national team level.

While also crossing paths with Raul, Zidane and Figo at Real Madrid and Chilean great Iván Zamorano at Inter Milan.

Despite the aforementioned stars he played alongside, Ronaldo's choice of his favoured football partner was ex-Belgium and PSV Eindhoven forward Luc Gilbert Nilis.

Nilis and Ronaldo formed a poetic but brief partnership for PSV in the Eredivise with the latter's niggling knee injuries short-circuiting their lethal partnership.

“I played with great players like Figo, Romario, Zidane, Rivaldo, Djorkaeff and Raul. But never has it worked as well as with Luc Nilis. He was second to none for giving me the best balls. He was always generous,” said Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima as quoted by Afrique Sports.

Who is Luc Nilis?

Luc Nilis is a retired Belgian footballer who enjoyed a successful career in his native Belgium and, in particular, in the Netherlands with PSV.

Throughout his impeccable six years with PSV, Nilis was a poacher, creator and artist rolled into one, with an unquenchable goal count. He also had a penchant for the spectacular.

Happy operating as either a secondary striker or as an out-and-out number 9, Nilis was excellent with both feet; his potent blend of guile, vision and technique created countless chances for his teammates.

Ronaldo apologizes for iconic 2002 World Cup haircut

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Brazilian Ronaldo has finally broken his silence over his iconic 2002 World Cup final haircut.

The legendary striker was in perfect shape for the Samba Boys during the world extravaganza, guiding them to the finals with his solitary goal against Turkey in the semis.

But ahead of the finals against Germany, he left supporters dumbfounded after he debuted a weird hairstyle that had him shave his hair off, sparing just his fringe.
