Luka Modric Spotted Making Huge Gesture at Kylian Mbappe After Frenchman Snubbed Real Madrid

Real Madrid star Luka Modric was spotted having a tunnel chat with Kylian Mbappe who recently snubbed a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe has been heavily tipped to join Los Blancos, only to sign a three-year contract extension with French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.

The pair played against each other during Croatia’s 1-0 win over France in the UEFA Nations League at the Stade de France on Monday evening, Mirror reports.

Mbappe would have played alongside Modric in Spain, but the 23-year-old rejected a move to the La Liga despite heavy rumours that he was prepared to move to the Spanish capital.

However, it was Croatia that won the tie after Modric scored from the penalty spot as the result means France who are the defending champions of the tournament can no longer defend their title.

Modric appears to be a fan of Mbappe, approaching him after Croatia's win for a quick chat, Republic World reports.

Although details of their conversation remain unclear but the two are unlikely to ever play in the same team as Modric will be 39 when Mbappe's new contract expires.

France crash out of UEFA Nations league

Meanwhile, France's hopes of retaining the Nations League title are over after a home defeat by Croatia on Monday.

Luka Modric's fifth-minute penalty after Ibrahima Konate fouled Ante Budimir was the game's only goal.

France remain rooted to the bottom of Nations League A Group 1, condemned to their second defeat in four games by Luka Modric.

PSG part ways with Mbappe

Sports Brief earlier reported that Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly reached an agreement to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine boss is now set to depart Parc des Princes after just 18 months in charge of the French giants.

PSG's decision to let Pochettino go came following a series of crunch talks between the two parties.
