Match Preview

Jose Mourinho is a finals specialist and he will be looking to win his first trophy with the Italian side. The last time AS Roma participated in a final was in 1991 where they lost to Inter Milan.

Mourinho led Roma to a sixth-place finish in the Italian Serie A and thus, their place in the Europa League next season is confirmed. Roma have been fairly comfortable in the Conference League this season despite a 6-1 thrashing in Norway at the hands of Bodo/Glimt.

‘The Special One ’ walks into this final on the back of four European titles already. He won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan and has similarly won the Europa League twice.

Feyenoord meanwhile finished third behind Ajax and PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie. They remain unbeaten in the competition and have found the back of the net 28 times in 12 games according to Sports Mole. They eliminated Marseille in the semi-finals after a closely-fought contest.

Team News

AS Roma will be banking on the on-form Tammy Abraham to lead them to glory. The Englishman has enjoyed a fine debut season in Italy. The former Chelsea man has 26 goals in 51 appearances.

Feyenoord have the competition’s top scorer in Cyril Dessers who has 10 goals so far. He is expected to lead the line together with Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson. Goalkeeper Justin Bijlow recently made his return from injury but second-choice Ofir Marciano is expected to start ahead of him.

Police clash with AS Roma and Feyenoord fans in Tirana

Earlier Sports Brief had reported that there was drama in Albania recently as police reportedly clashed with both Feyenoord and AS Roma fans ahead of the Europa Conference League final.

But ahead of the game, it was discovered that many fans travelled to Tirana without tickets for the game.
