Bechem United pulled the chestnut out of the blazing fire when they edged Aduana Stars in the semifinals of the 2022 FA Cup.

Goals from Emmanuel Avornyo and Augustine Okrah were more than enough to send Bechem to their second finals in the history of the competition.

The Hunters, who are currently perched on the second spot in the Ghana Premier League, will be chasing their second trophy when they cross swords with defending champions Hearts of Oak in the finals, set to be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.

With both Bechem and Aduana playing away from home at the Golden City Park in Berekum, the Hunters began the game on the front foot and were rewarded when Emmanuel Avornyo broke the game's deadlock in the 15th minute

Things grew from bad to worse for Aduana when Augustine Okrah's stupendous freekick cannoned off Joseph Addo to nestle at the back of the net after 24 minutes to put Bechem in the driving seat.

After recess, Aduana mustered a couple of efforts which did little to trouble the defence of their opponents.

Former Asante Kotoko attacker Augustine Okrah thought he had increased Bechem's tally to three but his goal was chopped off.

And with no further additions to the scoreline, Bechem held on to secure their second finals in the history of the FA Cup, the oldest existing competition in Ghana.

Hearts edge Dreams FC in five-goal thriller

Defending FA Cup champions Hearts of Oak had to dig deep to clinch a 3-2 win over a stubborn Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Seidu Suraj and Benjamin Yorke nullified the two goals scored by the 'Still Believe' Lads in an enthralling encounter.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the opening six minutes of the game before Hearts equalized and took the lead for the first time in the game before halftime.

The Phobians extended their lead through Suraj before Dream reduced the deficit to set-up a nervy finish to the game. However, they held on to reach back-to-back FA Cup finals.

Hearts play out 1-1 draw with Bechem United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Hearts of Oak fought to come from behind to draw 1-1 against Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The home side took the lead through midfielder Emmanuel Owusu with a 30th-minute tap-in that went past Hearts of Oak goalie Richard Atta.

The Phobians drew level in the 46th minute after midfielder Suraj Seidu latched onto a long pass from Ansah Botchway and fired past Bechem United goalie Abdulai Iddrissu.
