Democratic Republic of Congo winger Jody Lukoki has been confirmed dead at age 29, according to The Sun.
The 29-year-old, who was making progress from a cruciate ligament injury, died on Monday, May 9, 2022.
The Sun reports that the ex-Ajax winger's cause of death is yet to be stated following his shocking demise.
The Congolese star started his career in the youth ranks of Ajax, where he graduated to the senior side and won three Eredivisie titles.
He later moved to Bulgarian to play for Ludogorets, winning four league titles before making a return to the Netherlands.

FootballLukoki was with FC Twente until February, when his contract with the club was terminated.
The controversial player served 80 hours of community service and a suspended three-year probationary period for the charges for assaulting his girlfriend.
