  • Tammy Abraham continued his impressive form scoring in Roma’s 4-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League Conference
  • The English striker has now taken his tally in all competitions this season to 24 as he equals a long-standing record at the club
  • He equals the record set by Rodolfo Volk in 1929-30 as the Roma player with most goals in a season, joining the esteemed company of Francesco Totti and Edin Dzeko

AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham has equalled a stunning record at the Italian club and went on to mock their Europa Conference League opponents Bodo/Glimt, Daily Post reports.

The striker was in action on Thursday night helping Jose Mourinho’s side to reach the semi-final of the competition.

It took just five minutes before the former Chelsea striker opened the scoring in the game before Nicolo Zainolo scored a hat-trick in the Italian capital.

Roma lost the first leg in Norway 2-1 but they outclassed their opponents and scored four un-replied goals to go through 5-2 on aggregates.

After their first-leg loss in Norway, Abraham was struck by a snowball thrown by a home fan as he headed for the tunnel.

But the England striker had the last laugh on Thursday, however, writing on Instagram after the victory: “No snowballs in Rome. Semi-finals here we come!!”

Abraham’s fourth-minute effort, his 24th goal of the season, also saw him equal the record for most goals scored in a debut season by a Roma player.

The record was originally set by Rodolfo Volk in 1929-30, with the England striker joining the esteemed company of Francesco Totti and Edin Dzeko in hitting that number.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho was the subject of an interesting incident in Norway ahead of his Roma side’s Europa Conference League quarter-final against Bodo/Glimt.

The Portuguese gaffer does not have fond memories in Norway as this is where he suffered his heaviest defeat of the season to the same opponents.

Mourinho’s assistant in police trouble

Sports Brief earlier reported that Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt filed a police report against AS Roma's assistant coach Nuno Santos.

UEFA has since launched an investigation of the incident. Roma's captain Lorenzo Pellegrini said after the match in an interview that Knutsen "attacking" Santos was an insult to the competition.

However, the home side counter-accused the Italians of "bombarding media with falsehoods", claiming instead that Knutsen was the one who was attacked.
