There was drama in the top-of-the table clash between University of Pretoria and Richards Bay at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Tshwane. Kamohelo Pheehane scored in the 92nd minute of the match to give AmaTuks a crucial one 1-0 victory over the Rich Boyz.

The result dislodged the visitors from the top of the table, while the hosts moved into the driving seat towards the league title. With five matches to go, AmaTuks is now on 45 points, while Richards Bay remains on 43 points in second place.

The result was also the perfect result for the university following a heart-breaking loss to Royal AM in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal last Sunday after having led comfortably.

AmaTuks' Keegan Allen was named the man-of-the-match after an outstanding, difference-making performance.

Pretoria's next match is against Cape Town All-Stars in the Mother City, while the Rich Boyz will look to dust off the disappointment against Platinum City Rovers.

GladAfrica Championship wrap: Richards Bay remains at the top of the table while Amatuks chase hard

The race for a spot in the DStv Premiership remained as tight as ever in the GladAfrica Championship.

As reported on Sports Brief, the same can be said about the race to avoid dropping into the ABC Motsepe League in the lower half of the table.

Only one team gets automatic promotion into the top tier of South African football, while the second and third place teams go into a play-off mini-league.
