Kenya among few countries selected to host the World Cup trophy

According to Coca-Cola's East and Central Africa vice-president, Debra Mallowah, Kenya is one of the few African countries afforded the opportunity to host the World Cup trophy during the global tour.

"This is iconic because Kenya is one of the few African countries that have been selected to host the 2022 World Cup Trophy Tour," Mallowah was quoted saying during a press conference.
"I take this opportunity to invite all Kenyans out there to join in celebrating the extraordinary moment when the trophy arrives on May 26," she added.

A set of rules that will be in place during the tour dictate that only the head of state and the players who have won the World Cup will have the privilege of touching the 6.1kg trophy.
