Following the loss, Mosimane was called into a meeting with Al Ahly’s President, Mahmoud El-Khatib, Soccer Laduma reported.

The meeting was also attended by the club's director of football and members of the board, with the loss featuring among the items discussed. While it was only their first domestic loss of the season, the club has not been their usual dominant selves in competitions. The two defeats to Mamelodi Sundowns also added to the pressure to perform.

The loss meant that Al Ahly and Zamalek are level on points at the top of the league, with Pitso's side playing a game less.

Mosimane blamed the league loss on Al Ahly’s congested fixture schedule though.

“Al Masry’s match is our third in seven days, after a difficult match against Sudan’s Al-Hilal and another against Ittihad of Alexandria,” Mosimane said.
“If it (the Al Masry match) was played at another time, you would’ve seen more fight, as the players did in the previous encounters,” he added.

Despite the numerous success that Mosimane has achieved with Al Ahly, pressure is still on him and the side to perform at the highest level. Mosimane hasn’t won over all of the fan base and even former stars don’t think he’s the best to ever coach the club.

As reported by KingFUT, former Al Ahly player, Wael Gomaa, believes that Mosimane is not the best head coach that the club has ever had.
