Nigeria's failure to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar has led to a serious probe of what went wrong against the Black Stars of Ghana.

Ghana qualified ahead of the Super Eagles after urging them via the away goal rule, after a 1-1 draw in Abuja a week ago.

According to Owngoal Nigeria, a player had to prompt the technical team, Ghana had switched their formation to five back late in the second half.

The technical bankruptcy of the team was exposed as they struggled to match up the masterclass of Otto Addo, who made three quick changes at the start of the second.

Otto Addo brought on Daniel Kofi-Kyereh, Andy Yiadom and Elisha Owusu as the team switched to a five back line, with Dennis Odoi moving to the left back role.

Owngoal Nigeria reveals, an official disclosed that the technical team had no idea, hence the substitution of Frank Onyeka for Shehu Abdullahi.

They also add Moses Simon was expected to start ahead of Ademola Lukman, but an order from above saw the former relegated to the bench.

Thomas Partey's tenth minute strike proved decisive as the Black Stars qualified ahead of the three times African champions.
