Thomas Teye Partey has thanked his fans after becoming the first active Ghanaian player to reach one million followers on Instagram.
The Arsenal midfielder posted a video on the photo and video sharing app for his supporters, which included his goal against Nigeria that qualified Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In his post, spotted by Sports Brief, Partey said:

Partey is 550 thousand followers ahead of the second most-followed Black Stars player on Instagram, Al-Sadd forward Andre Ayew.
He is, however, 500 thousand followers behind former Chelsea and Ghana star Michael Essien, who has 1.5 million followers.
The 28-year-old was instrumental for Ghana as the Black Stars booked their place at the Qatar 2022 World Cup at the expense of Nigeria.
Ghana got the better of their West African rivals following a nail-biting 1-1 draw at the Mashood Abiola Stadium last Tuesday.
Partey opened the scoring in the early stages of the first half before Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong equalised through the spot.
The Black Stars progressed to the Mundial on away goals after the first leg ended in a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
At club level, Partey is enjoying his best spell for Arsenal since he switched Spain for England and is fast becoming a cult hero with his superlative displays.
Partey's purple patch of form was rehashed with his crowning as the player of the month for Arsenal in the month of February while playing a major role in Arsenal's Champions League pursuit.
