Bafana dominated proceedings but could not capitalise on their opportunities. Broos said that he was aware of the poor finishing during the game but didn’t want to dwell on it too much, Sport24 reported.

"We had a good performance. I saw a good game and a good mentality. The only negative of that game is that we didn't score. We had six, seven good chances," Broos said.

France played against Ivory Coast on the same day and won 2-1, but were made to work for the victory. Aurélien Tchouaméni scored in extra time to give the French a victory.

With the French expected to be much tougher opposition than Guinea, Broos is expected to bring in a few new faces to the team. Before the friendlies, the Belgian coach promised that every player would get some game time, The South African reported.

“There will be a different team, there will not be 11 different players but there will be a different team, as I said before this camp I will give all players minutes so we started already against Guinea,” he said.

Bafana beat the French the last time the two teams met, but are expecting a much tougher encounter this time around.

International friendly: Wasteful Bafana Bafana miss the chance to bury Guinea in Belgium

South Africa and Guinea played out a thrilling 0-0 draw in Kortrijk, Belgium. Hugo Broos and his charges will rue the fact that they had 15 clear chances, with 10 of those on target. However, the chronic South African failure to finish reared its ugly head once again.

Bafana Bafana also missed out on the opportunity to defeat the West African nation for the very first time, having lost two and drawn two other encounters with them, Sports Brief earlier reported.

While the top nations in Africa will play the final stages of World Cup qualifiers this week, Bafana and Guinea have long been eliminated and will gain some confidence from the match. It also allowed Broos to give a whole host of youngsters the opportunity to experience international football.
